Nagaoka Bioeconomy Symposium 2023 was held.
On Wednesday, February 22, we held the “Nagaoka Bioeconomy Symposium 2023” at Aore Nagaoka.
On the day of the event, we had a large turnout of approximately 300 participants, both in person and online.
Thank you very much.
Part 1 featured a report session on this year’s Nagaoka Bio-Community activities.
Our center also presented a report on this fiscal year’s achievements. Project Leader Professor Ogasawara introduced our university’s initiatives, achievements to date, and future activities.
In addition, Assistant Professor Watari presented on the initiatives under Research and Development Project 5, the JICA National College of Technology Open Innovation program, and case studies involving Africa and Nagaoka. Furthermore, representatives from participating organizations—JA Echigo Chuetsu and Iwatsuka Confectionery Co., Ltd.—gave presentations on their internal initiatives and their expectations for COI-NEXT.
In Part 2, Deputy Project Leader Nakamura served as moderator for a session titled “Considering Nagaoka’s Bioeconomy from the Perspectives of Distribution and Industry,” during which a lively discussion took place among the panelists.
During the poster session that followed, we displayed posters from our research center and our university and exchanged views with many of the participants.
Going forward, we will continue to work with our stakeholders and local residents to envision the future of our community and strive to foster innovation aimed at solving challenges.
