A special lecture was given to the 1st year students in the "Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Course" at Nagaoka Junior High School, affiliated with Niigata University.

On Tuesday, July 2, and Friday, July 5, we visited Niigata University Affiliated Nagaoka Junior High School.

At this school, the “Manufacturing Department”—which aims to cultivate the qualities and abilities necessary for innovative professionals—was launched this school year under a research designation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

As part of the “Manufacturing” course for first-year middle school students, “Nagaoka COI-NEXT” and “N.CYCLE” collaborated to conduct an outreach class.

During the lecture, we introduced research and corporate initiatives aimed at solving challenges in agriculture. In the workshop that followed, the students learned how cutting-edge technology is helping to solve these challenges through hands-on activities such as building motors, observing microorganisms, and conducting experiments to purify water used in fish farming.

It was truly impressive to see them handling the research equipment with nervous excitement and discussing experimental methods with great enthusiasm.

As students progress through the grades, we hope to continue supporting them in deepening their learning as “Nagaoka COI-NEXT,” in collaboration with “N.CYCLE.”
