We gave out rice at Miraiye's 1st anniversary event!

On Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, we distributed “Nagaoka COI-NEXT” rice to visitors at Yonehyakubyo Place Miraie Nagaoka.

At COI-NEXT, with the cooperation of three farmers in Nagaoka City, we are working to develop a resource-recycling rice cultivation method that harnesses the power of microorganisms. This is the first rice harvested since the start of our research, which took place last fall.

Actually, this rice isn't just any ordinary rice.

Point #1! Our Commitment to Cultivation

We grew these crops using the wisdom farmers have accumulated over the years, along with the power of technology and science—such as compost made using the power of microorganisms and robotic lawn mowers!

Point #2! Snow Cellar Storage

Niigata Prefecture is known as one of Japan’s regions with the heaviest snowfall. The rice spent the winter in this natural “refrigerator,” which uses snow to maintain optimal temperature and humidity.

Point #3! Delivered to You with All Its Freshness Intact

We’ve sealed the freshness of this carefully cultivated and preserved rice—just milled—in vacuum-sealed packaging.

This rice, born from the soil of Nagaoka, is packed with the heartfelt feelings of so many people.

Over the course of two days, we welcomed approximately 300 visitors. We hope that rice served as an opportunity for you to learn about our project.

We plan to continue distributing this rice at various events in the future. We’ll be posting event information on our website, so please be sure to join us.
