Research and Development Task 5: Flatfish fed sake lees at Niigata Prefectural Marine High School have been shipped.

On Monday, April 17, we shipped flounder that had been raised on sake lees.

In this experiment, we collaborated on a study of the growth of flounder that had been farmed at the Marine High School for approximately two years and fed a diet containing sake lees and other ingredients. Students from the Marine High School removed the flounder from the tanks and measured their weight and length.

On the day of the event, Professor Takeuchi of Kanazawa University, President Oshima of Hamaman Foods, Associate Professor Maki, and Assistant Professor Watari from our university participated and exchanged views.

Going forward, we will continue to conduct component analyses and investigate the effects of the feed we provide.
