This year's rice has been harvested!

Rice harvesting is currently underway in the fields of the participating farmers in Nagaoka City and Shibata City, who are collaborating with the COI-NEXT project. This year, with the intense heat and lack of rain, there were concerns about the rice’s growth, but we were able to successfully harvest the rice in many of the fields.

As soon as this year’s rice passed inspection by the JA, we transferred it to the snow cellar located within the Regional GX Innovation Co-creation Center, which was completed at the end of March on the campus of Nagaoka University of Technology. We will be studying the changes in the rice caused by snow cellar storage in greater detail than ever before.
